About the Role

  • You’ll shadow a professional dog trainer for 3 months and begin (or continue!) your formal education.

  • You’ll conduct obedience classes, teach private obedience, supervise Puppy Day Camp, and provide dog walking services.

  • You’ll be helping local dog families learn humane, force-free ways of training and problem-solving.

  • You’ll hone your coaching, training and teaching skills.

  • You’ll be assisting a Certified Professional Dog Trainer (CPDT), Certified Separation Anxiety Trainer (CSAT) and graduate of the Academy for Dog Trainers (CTC) with a thriving private behavior consulting practice.

  • You’ll join a fun, supportive team in a newly-renovated dog training center.

Ideal Candidate

  • Will have strong, professional, positive people skills

  • Will have a high-school diploma, preferably a college degree

  • Will have 1+ years experience handling or training dogs

  • Will have experience teaching, coaching, or training adults

  • Will have access to a personal vehicle and the ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends

Nuts and Bolts

  • Approximately 20 hours a week to start

  • Starting wage $15 an hour, more DoQ
