About the Role
You’ll shadow a professional dog trainer for 3 months and begin (or continue!) your formal education.
You’ll conduct obedience classes, teach private obedience, supervise Puppy Day Camp, and provide dog walking services.
You’ll be helping local dog families learn humane, force-free ways of training and problem-solving.
You’ll hone your coaching, training and teaching skills.
You’ll be assisting a Certified Professional Dog Trainer (CPDT), Certified Separation Anxiety Trainer (CSAT) and graduate of the Academy for Dog Trainers (CTC) with a thriving private behavior consulting practice.
You’ll join a fun, supportive team in a newly-renovated dog training center.
Ideal Candidate
Will have strong, professional, positive people skills
Will have a high-school diploma, preferably a college degree
Will have 1+ years experience handling or training dogs
Will have experience teaching, coaching, or training adults
Will have access to a personal vehicle and the ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends
Nuts and Bolts
Approximately 20 hours a week to start
Starting wage $15 an hour, more DoQ
